SMRpodcast episode 301 is online and ready for download. We've got a full crew this week and start the show off jumping right into some of the announcements made at Google I/O.
Google has new instant messaging and video calling apps coming soon call Allo and Duo respectively. Â Both Robb and Rod think that Google would do better if it just improved Hangouts instead of coming out with new apps that do essentially the same thing.
It looks like Twitter may soon stop images and URLs in Tweets from counting against the 140 character count.  The entire crew thinks this is a good move as it will give users more room to get their message across without fundamentally changing how the service works.
WhatsApp Messenger is preparing to roll out video calling into what is currently one of the worlds most popular mobile IM clients.  Facebook has steadily taken ideas from WhatsApp and added them to Facebook Messenger  but it finally looks like the opposite is true.
Google calendar finally recognizes conference call pass codes in meeting invites, Chris and Robb reminiscence about the T.V. Show Knight Rider, we debate if Denzel Washington has ever made a bad movie, and Rod tells the epic tale of his horrible travel day. Â We've got all this, our picks and more in episode #301 of the SMRpodcast.
