SMRpodcast #283:

SMRpodcast episode #283 is online and ready for download.  Rod is out this week, but, Robb and Chris are joined by Terrance Gaines, a.k.a., Brothatech, who always brings an Apple fans perspective to the show.

This week we talk Jada Pinkett Smith, Aunt Viv, and the lack of diversity of Oscar Nominations.  We also give our hopes and predictions in the AFC and NFC Championships.

In the tech news this week, WhatsApp Messenger drops the $1 per year price after your first year.  The company is removing all barriers to keeping WhatsApp the number 1 mobile IM client on the net.

Marissa Mayer continues to exhibit what many would call poor, out of touch, leadership qualities when the Yahoo! CEO tells all employees at a company meeting that “no one is getting layedoff this week”.  To put it mildly, Yahoo! is struggling mightily, and layoffs are most probably coming… Just in a different week.

Netflix is about to get a price hike, Google Chrome browsing is about to speed up, Lara Sasken's Twitter handle, @larams, just became very valuable, and both DeadPool and Suicide Squad trailers look awesome.  We've got all this, our picks, and more in episode #283 of the SMRpodcast.
