In this week's news, President Obama urges the FCC to “do everything it can” to protect net neutrality for everyone and asks that internet connectivity be reclassified under Title 2 of the Telecommunications Act.  The goal is to ensure that service providers have a legal obligation not to block or limit users access to websites.
Alibaba sets a new single day online sales record with of $9 billion is goods and services being sold on Singles Day, 11/11, a “made up holiday in China the company created in 2009 to bolster sales.
Apple finally fixes the problem of missing text messages from iOS users to folks that have left the iPhone for another platform.  The problem was that messages from iPhone users which used to be delivered to your iPhone via iMessage still have their messages delivered via iMessage even if you no longer use an iPhone.  The problem has been resolved, however, Apple is still facing a class action suite.
